Thinking pink and Soctoberfest!

Today marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and also Soctoberfest!

I don't really choose pink that much and after searching the whole house this is all the pink stuff that I own.You can see the pink sock yarn, I will try and knit that up into some nice socks this month for Soctoberfest, or at least start knitting them! I am rapidly filling my knitting basket with stuff on the needles which is a bit scary as I am usually a 2 project only girl.

Official In The Pink Day is the 19th October but what I will do is donate 5 pence for every comment I get this month to Cancer Research UK. If I get so many comments that I can't afford to donate that much I will donate as much as I can afford to! I doubt if I will get that many though so comment away, only one comment per person per post please!! I will post randomly as I normally do.

Opal 'ladybird'! Great pink sock yarn & the first patterned sock yarn I used, re-launching my knitting 'career'.

What a fantastic idea. My head is buzzing with 'citizenship' projects as my Year 11 are 'doing' their projects this term (GCSE Citizenship!) and some may develop something from your idea. Ta!

I don't have MUCH pink either. Purple, yes, green, definitely, but not pink.
On the other hand, I do have a single skein of sock club yarn which is eyepopping in its' pinkness and it would make a great speedy knit, so maybe I could be converted....

What a lovely idea, QOF!

I love the Pink Collection! Could you tell me what that fantastic pink and black yarn is in the centre of the pic please? And I'll then let the girls fight over it;)

What a great idea - thank you for thinking of this and publicising breast cancer awareness month.

If I had to collect all the pink in my house...I wouldn't be able to find anything at all!!! Now, red, on the other hand...

Well done on your pink initiative!

There are those lovely punky socks again (although I'm a bit worried about that freaky gonk thing, QotF...)!

I fifteenth the great idea bit, and thanks for your comment over at I Knit blog. I'm amazed that's all the pink stuff you have - I love to wear a bit of pink, it challenges my 'masculinity'! I had my pink trousers on last week - got a few choice stares.

I don't think I have a single Pink item !! - I'll just have to Think Pink instead (Imagine me with a little Pink thought bubble above my head!!!) Good luck with the fundraising!

one of the stares was from me but only because he looked gorgeous.

Thanks and well done for donating per comment - I hope this counts as separate to Craig.

What a generous thing to do. I've just realised I don't have a single pink thing to wear - don't even know if have any pink yarn - but that can soon be rectified!

I saw your comment over on Craig and Gerard's blog, and thought I'd come over and have a look at your blog :)

I'm the opposite to you - I seem to be constantly surrounded by pink!

What a lovely idea!
My sister in law was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago, aged 36. Things look good at the moment for her, research has improved survival rates so much, so congratulations and good luck with your fundraising.
And Happy Socktoberfest too!!

What a great idea! And very generous.

Breast cancer awareness campaigns doesn't seem to be something they have here in France.

Love all the pink goodness even though I'm not normally a pink girl. I'm going to have to look for some pink sock yarn.

Cool! That's generous of you, Lin--and smart. I'll have to think about my own way of contributing this month.

Happy sock knitting (I'd love to try a pair of socks but it all looks too complicated for me).

Fab idea!

I'm surrounded by pink, I guess that's what happens when you have little princess toddling around!

Oh my goodness. What is that pink bird thing...I must have one!

(I'm like a 5 year old girl when it comes to hot pink fluffy things...and since I can't wear them I might as well have them around me!)

That's very generous of you. Thank you!

It's rather encourgaing to see the variety of ways to raise both funds and awareness - such a lot of families have been touched by breast cancer. Good on you!

I think you still own more pink stuff than I do.
